End table update

So...once again life kept me from being motivated to blog, but I'm going to try to post AT LEAST once a week from now on now that I'm done with job training for the moment.

First of all, our house fared well in the tornadoes. The closest one passed 3/4 mile south on the 20th. It was so shocking to see the damage in the hours after as we helped our town begin the long recovery process. I may or may not post more on this. Even more than a month later, I find myself lacking the words to adequately express my thoughts on the matter.

Now onto happier things...

You guys remember that poor decrepit little end table I posted back in February right?

Well here's a before and after.

It turned our really well, I think. I used mermaid treasure for the paint and gunstock stain to darken the bare wood and add some tea stains to the paint and darken it up. Here's what it looked like before I did any distressing. As you can see, it was a bit too bright for my taste.

And once again, completed with a new pull knob from Home Depot.

So what do you think? I have a mirror and dresser in that room that need to be redone. Should I do the same color or something else?
