Weekend project...

Thought I would share this past weekend's project. Kevin and I have been wanting to change out our back yard conversation set out for a table and chairs and move the old set up to the front porch. Well, we finally decided it would be better (and cheaper!) to build our own. We don't have chairs, but I figure we can just use some of the non matching ones we already have and build our own chairs later. So first, here's the assembled project before staining.  

It's made from construction grade pine from Lowes. We got the pattern from Ana White. If you haven't checked this woman out, you really should! She's got a bunch of plans for all sorts of home stuff I'm too cheap to buy ready made. Anyway, here's the semi finished project drying on top of the saw horses:

Cool, huh? We used red mahogany stain from Minwax and it just looks beautiful! Oh, and did I mention...

It's got a place to put our ice-cold drinks so we don't have to get up to get more. The epidomy of laziness...

Or we could just...ya know, put plants in there... Jus' sayin'.

Anyway, bottom line is I can't wait to try it out for 4th of July!
